I've just sold two bras on eBay, and as far as I can tell BOTH of the buyers are male. Hmm. And these aren't insubstantial bras. Curious.
One more reason I like Deneb -- he's nuts in the best way possible.
As of 11:06 this morning, San Francisco became the first place in the US to bestow marriage rights upon a same-sex couple. At a time when I all continually hear about in the media is of all the places around the country scrambling to ban gay marriage, I'm glad I live somewhere that recognizes that civil rights are not a matter of popular vote. I've been conceptualizing the argument in these terms: if it were 1954 and we were considering banning marriages between people of different races, would popular opinion (which I'm assuming might have been on the side of allowing such a measure) have made it right to discriminate in this case? Make that argument today and luckily only a small minority of people would support it. More than anything, I'm just mystified that in a world where people struggle so much for peace and love, why on earth does anyone think they have the right to judge how people love one another? Anyone who wants to form a family should have the right to do so – that’s family values, dammit.
